First of nine cogeneration plants put into operation in Odesa
The first cogeneration plant, installed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and with the support of Japan, Sweden and Norway, has been put into operation in Odesa at one of the critical infrastructure facilities, Odesa City Military Administration head Serhiy Lysak said on Telegram on Monday.
"An official delegation of the Kingdom of Sweden, led by SIDA Director General Jakob Granit, is in Odesa on a working visit. They jointly inspected the critical infrastructure facility where the cogeneration plant is installed. The project was implemented in partnership with UNDP and with the support of Japan, Sweden and Norway. The plant has already been put into operation, ready to produce electricity for the facility that provides heat for 150,000 Odesa residents, medical and educational institutions," the message said.
This is the first of nine cogeneration plants provided for by the Memorandum between the city council and UNDP. The total system capacity is 29.7 MW.
