Russian drones currently prevent work on restoring power to Chernihiv, north of region – Ministry of Energy
Due to the continuous terror of Russian drones, energy workers are unable to begin restoration work in Chernihiv region, where tens of thousands of Ukrainian families are without power, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine said.
"Emergency teams of energy workers in Chernihiv region cannot begin restoring the power supply due to continuous Russian drone attacks. The Russians are deliberately launching unmanned aerial vehicles that circle the damaged facilities continuously, making it impossible to work safely and prolonging the humanitarian crisis," the Ministry of Energy said in a statement on Tuesday.
The report notes that the day before, the Russians attacked civilian energy infrastructure. As a result, Chernihiv and the northern part of the region were completely cut off from electricity, leaving tens of thousands of Ukrainian families without power.
The Ministry of Energy indicates that repair crews are prepared to restore electricity to Ukrainian homes as soon as possible, but the enemy is preventing this on purpose.
"This is an act of terrorism. There are no military targets in the area of the affected energy facilities. Russia is deliberately striking infrastructure on which ordinary people depend," the ministry emphasized.
Against the backdrop of these barbaric actions, the Russian leadership's claims that their objectives are purely military appear particularly false.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that the attack on the power system of Chernihiv region, which left hundreds of thousands of people without electricity, is direct proof that Russia's true goal is the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
The ministry explained that every crime committed by Russian terrorists is being recorded, and they are working with international partners to strengthen air defense and hold Russian aggressors accountable for war crimes.
