Former head of Ukrenergo Kudrytsky detained in Lviv region – source

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) detained former head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky in Lviv region, he is being charged with fraud on a particularly large scale, a law enforcement source told Interfax-Ukraine.

"Kudrytsky was detained in Lviv region," the agency's interlocutor said.

According to him, the detainee is currently being charged with fraud on a particularly large scale.

The agency's interlocutor clarified that this is about the case of businessman Ihor Hrynkevych and the alleged misappropriation of state-owned company funds during tenders for the reconstruction of power system facilities back in 2018.

On October 21, the agency's sources reported on searches at the former head of Ukrenergo, Kudrytsky. The investigative actions were carried out as part of an investigation into criminal proceedings regarding abuse of office and misappropriation of state-owned company funds.

Searches were also carried out at Ukrenergo and organizations that may be involved in the illegal scheme of misappropriation of funds during the construction of power lines.

The agency currently has no official information from the State Bureau of Investigations.
