In November, Ukraine will reach capacity of 500-800 UAV interceptors per day – Zelenskyy

Ukraine uses interceptors, F-16s, and helicopters to shoot down Shahed UAVs. Much depends on the weather, but plans are underway to reach production of 500-800 interceptors per day in November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"The shaheds have now become more dangerous in some places than ballistic missiles. We can shoot down a ballistic missile at least where we have Patriots. But to shoot down such a large number of shaheds at such an altitude, we need to use everything we can. Interceptors, F-16s, helicopters—we use everything. And a lot depends on the weather. In freezing temperatures, we'll see how we use helicopters. Rain and so on—aircraft visibility is not as good," he said during his meeting with journalists.

"Interceptors are also different. Some are already at a high level, with homing and so on. We're moving towards that. Regardless, by November, we'll reach 500-800 interceptors per day," the president added.

According to him, it's necessary to train many operators to operate the interceptors, since mobile fire teams are stationed at various sites. At the same time, Ukraine needs to respond to Russian attacks with long-range weapons.
