SBU exposes Russian agent posing as cleaner to spy on soldiers' homes

The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained another Russian agent in the Donetsk region - a 54-year-old resident of the front-line town of Druzhkivka, who, under the guise of a cleaner, spied on the homes of Ukrainian soldiers.

"On the instructions of the enemy, the woman placed ads in local Telegram channels about providing cleaning services. In this way, she "legally" penetrated the rented homes of Ukrainian soldiers who were participating in battles on the front line," the SBU reported in a Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to the Ukrainian special service, after receiving orders from the defenders, the agent arrived at their homes with cleaning equipment in order to covertly photograph documents and property of the military under the guise of cleaning work.

"At the same time, the person in question tried to gain the trust of the Ukrainian defenders, from whom she then veiledly questioned them about their combat positions and tasks," the SBU noted.

The agent "drained" the collected information into a chatbot specially created by the occupiers.

According to the report, the personal data and addresses of Ukrainian soldiers were needed by the enemy to prepare combat and recruitment operations.

SBU officers detained the suspect at her place of residence.

During the searches, a smartphone was seized from her, which she used to collect and transmit intelligence information to Russian special services.

SBU investigators informed her of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The perpetrator is in custody without the right to post bail.

The investigation was carried out by SBU officers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
