Medical institutions of Ukraine and Azerbaijan sign cooperation agreements – Ministry of Health
Medical institutions of Ukraine and Azerbaijan have signed a number of cooperation agreements.
According to the Ministry of Health, the documents were signed as part of a working visit of an industry delegation led by the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko to Azerbaijan.
In particular, memorandums were signed between the Okhmatdyt Clinic (Kyiv) and the K.Yu. Faradzhova Research Institute of Pediatrics, the National Cancer Institute (Kyiv) and the National Oncology Center of Azerbaijan, as well as between the Kharkiv National Medical University and the Azerbaijan Medical University.
The partnerships will contribute to the exchange of experience, improving the qualifications of medical personnel, implementing best practices and improving the quality systems of medical care.
In addition, the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Dialogue (a platform for discussing the prospects of industry cooperation between the countries) was held as part of the visit.
Currently, Ukraine is considering the possibility of using the logistics potential of Azerbaijan as a regional hub for supplies to the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia with the prospect of creating warehouses, laboratories and joint production.
"During the meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the participants discussed areas of investment cooperation, the development of joint production and the participation of Azerbaijani companies in pharmaceutical projects in Ukraine, expanding the possibilities of mutual supply of medicines and medical devices," the Ministry of Health noted.
In addition, Liashko thanked the Azerbaijani side for its comprehensive support to Ukraine during wartime, in particular for assistance in the restoration of Irpin and the repair of the Irpin Central City Hospital.
The total amount of humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan to Ukraine has now exceeded $44 million.
