Energoatom confirms searches by NABU, SAPO at its premises

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) are conducting investigative actions at Energoatom, the company reported.

"Energoatom informs that on November 10, investigative actions are being carried out at the company's office by representatives of the NABU and SAPO," the company said in a message on its Telegram channel on Monday.

The company stressed that it fully cooperates with the investigative bodies, provides all requested materials and contributes to an objective and transparent investigation. "The company does not impede the conduct of procedural actions and is interested in a comprehensive clarification of all circumstances," Energoatom assured.

As reported, the NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.

"15 months of work and 1,000 hours of audio recordings. The activities of a high-level criminal organization have been documented. Its participants built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic state-sector enterprises, in particular Energoatom," NABU noted.

Serhiy Pushkar, a member of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC); businessman Tymur Mindich; Dmytro Basov, former executive director for physical protection and security of Energoatom; and Ihor Myroniuk, former advisor to the Minister of Energy, are among the participants in the large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector, which was named "Midas" and identified by NABU.
