President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko for statements on the resignation of Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk and Justice Minister Herman Haluschenko.

"I believe the ministers of justice and energy should step down. This is a matter of trust. If there are accusations, they must be addressed. The fastest way to resolve this issue is to remove them from office. I asked the Prime Minister of Ukraine for resignation statements from these ministers. I ask the members of the Verkhovna Rada to support these statements," Zelenskyy said in an address on Wednesday.

According to Zelenskyy, everything should be decided in the legal sphere.

After talking with Svyrydenko, Zelenskyy noted the need for maximum transparency in the energy sector: "All processes must be transparent."

"I support every investigation by law enforcement and anti-corruption officers. This is an absolutely clear and equal position for everyone. There will be no schemes, and it is good that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will provide full assistance to the investigation and all procedural and judicial actions," the president noted.

He announced a cleanup and reboot of Energoatom's management.
