Air defense centers similar to Kharkiv one to be created in three more regions: Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhia
Defense Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal is initiating the creation of air defense centers in Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhia regions, modeled on those operating in Kharkiv region.
"I visited Kharkiv Region Air Defense Coordination Center, where I held a meeting on the creation of similar air defense centers in Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhia regions. A number of decisions were made during the meeting," he wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.
According to him, the coordination center in Kharkiv region has demonstrated high operational effectiveness. "We will expand this experience to other regions, which will enable us to quickly respond to threats, coordinate actions between all forces involved in countering air attacks, and ensure maximum protection for critical infrastructure and civilians," he emphasized.
