French Alstom, Ukrzaliznytsia sign contract to supply 55 electric locomotives to Ukraine – Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron welcomes the signing of a contract between the French concern Alstom and Ukrainian Ukrzaliznytsia for EUR 475 million for the supply of 55 electric locomotives to Ukraine.
At a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris on Monday, Macron said, "I also welcome the signing of a contract between Alstom and the Ukrainian Railway Company [Ukrzaliznytsia] for the supply of 55 electric locomotives to Ukraine, valued at EUR 475 million, with financing from the World Bank and the IBRD."
Macron noted that the locomotives, which will be manufactured in Belfort, are another manifestation of the countries' long-term economic and strategic partnership.
