Over 1 billion UAH allocated to strengthen Sumy region's defense capabilities - official
Since the beginning of the year, more than UAH 1 billion hryvnias have been allocated to strengthen the security and defense forces and protect the civilian population of Sumy region, Regional Military Administration chief said Oleh Hryhorov has said.
According to him, UAH 770 million came from local budgets, and more than UAH 231 million from the regional budget.
"These resources are aimed at the key needs of the units: UAVs for work on the front line and covering the region, electronic warfare/electronic warfare equipment to counter air threats, fortification work and logistical support for military units," he said on Telegram on Wednesday morning.
He added that the authorities are constantly in touch with the military and promptly respond to their needs, and the defense forces of Sumy region repel some of the enemy threats every day, which saves people's lives.
"We are doing everything possible to ensure that the units have more tools and opportunities for their work and can continue to reliably protect the region," Hryhorov said.
