Not all private Ukrainian medical facilities enter mandatory data into e-Health system — Dpty Health Minister
Not all private medical institutions are entering mandatory data into the national electronic health system (EHS), Deputy Ukrainian Health Minister Maria Karchevych said.
"We amended the licensing requirements and obliged private medical institutions to enter data into the EHS. That is, into the patient's electronic medical record. The list of data that must be entered has also been defined. However, not all private-sector facilities have joined this process yet," she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Karchevych also noted that last year the Health Ministry eliminated about 30 of 600 paper reporting forms, and a draft order has been prepared allowing the remaining forms to be kept electronically.
"But it's been very hard to move it through approval. Colleagues have their own opinions, proposals, and so on. I hope it will soon be released for public consultation. Once adopted, the order will allow paper-based documents to be kept electronically, and of course patients will still be able to receive printed copies if needed," she said.
