URCS volunteers assist clean-up ops after Russian UAV attack on Vyshhorod

20 volunteers and four Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) transport units were involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the Russian UAV attack on Vyshhorod (Kyiv region) over the weekend.

"Vyshhorod... On the night of November 30, the Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response team in the Kyiv region, together with other rescue services, worked at the scene of the liquidation of the consequences of another shelling. After the rapid arrival at the scene, the team organized an aid point for the victims... 20 volunteers and four URCS transport units were involved in the response," the URCS Facebook page said in a message on Sunday.

Volunteers provided first aid to five people with serious injuries and handed them over to emergency medical services. Another six victims with more minor injuries received the necessary first aid. About 20 victims and their relatives were provided with first psychological aid.

Together with rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, volunteers helped evacuate residents of the damaged building. And together with the team from the Kyiv Animal Rescue Group (KARG), 18 pets were saved.

Currently, a URCS point is operating at the site of the strike, where victims and rescuers can drink tea or water and charge their mobile phones. Volunteers are distributing humanitarian aid — in particular, film and tarpaulin — so that residents of damaged neighboring buildings can temporarily rebuild their homes.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, another Russian missile strike was launched on the residential and industrial sector of Vyshgorod last night. The attack resulted in a fire and partial destruction in a high-rise building: the flames engulfed apartments from the 1st to the 6th floors of a nine-story building.

As reported earlier, Kyiv officials reported 19 victims, including four children. One person died. 11 people were injured, suffering injuries of varying severity: burns, shrapnel wounds, limb injuries, and poisoning by combustion products.

The elimination of the consequences of the attack is ongoing.
