SAPO petitions recognizing over UAH 8 mln in assets of MP as unfounded

Prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to declare the assets registered in the name of a number of individuals and legal entities related to the People's Deputy of Ukraine unfounded, the SAP reported.

On Telegram on Monday, the SAPO noted that during 2020–2021, the unofficial drivers of the people's deputy and a private company associated with him purchased three luxury cars into private ownership: "Toyota Land Cruiser 200", 2020 model year, BMW 730LD, 2020 model year, and BMW X5, 2020 model year, with a total value of over UAH 8.6 million.

"After purchasing these assets, the official used them. He even received permission to enter the territory of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," the anti-corruption prosecutor's office emphasizes.

The message states: "However, after analyzing the income and expenses of the government representative and his family members, it was established that it was impossible to acquire these vehicles at the expense of legal income."

The SAPO emphasizes that, in view of this, the prosecutor of the anti-corruption prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court to recognize the specified vehicles as unfounded assets and recover their value from the state's income.

The progress and results of the consideration of the civil case will be reported additionally.

The lawsuit was prepared on the basis of materials from the NACP and evidence independently obtained by SAPO prosecutors.

The SAPO message does not indicate the name of the people's deputy, as an informed source told the agency, it refers to Serhiy Lytvynenko (Servant of the People faction).
