General Staff refutes Russian Defense Ministry's false claims about capture of settlements in Donetsk region, significant losses of Ukrainian equipment
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied yet another false report from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the alleged "capture" of the village of Klynove in Donetsk region and significant losses of Ukrainian armored vehicles.
The General Staff press service’s statement notes that the information about the "capture of Klynove" is untrue.
"According to the logic of the Russian statement, their units should have advanced, capturing the village of Veroliubivka along the way, which is not the case," the General Staff noted.
Furthermore, reports of alleged massive losses of armored vehicles by Ukrainian units have been refuted. The General Staff emphasizes that the Russian side regularly disseminates such reports without any evidence.
"The situation in this area remains under the control of the Defense Forces. There have been no confirmed breakthroughs deep into Ukrainian defenses in the aforementioned areas," the statement reads.
The General Staff also noted that Ukrainian units continue to carry out their missions, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment: "The informational ‘victories’ that the Russian Ministry of Defense announces daily on paper have nothing to do with the actual situation on the front," the press service noted on Facebook.
