Kyiv 9th grader stabs teacher and classmate, faces criminal charges

On Monday morning, in one of the schools of the Obolon district, during the educational process, a 9th grade student stabbed a teacher and a classmate with a knife, the victims were hospitalized, the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has said.

The PGO's Telegram channel notes that after the crime, the minor tried to hide in the school premises and cut his hands.

"He was detained by law enforcement officers at the exit from the institution and taken to the Okhmatdyt hospital, where he is under medical supervision. After providing assistance, the issue of detention will be resolved in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine," the prosecutor's office emphasizes.

According to the report, during an examination of the boy's phone, correspondence with alleged representatives of the Russian special services was found.

Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors of the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 2 of Article 15, p. 1 part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - attempted murder of two or more persons.

Priority investigative actions are underway, the motives and all circumstances of the incident are being established.

"There is no threat to other students and employees of the institution," the message specifies.
