Svyrydenko instructs Energy, Finance Ministries to work out surcharges for energy workers

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko instructed the Ministry of Energy, together with the Ministry of Finance, to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a relevant decision on surcharges for energy workers who work in difficult conditions.

"We are introducing additional pay for energy workers who serve in repair and restoration teams at energy companies. This applies to specialists who go directly to strike sites in freezing conditions and restore supplies of heat, electricity, water and gas," she wrote on Telegram.

Svyrydenko stressed that despite the extremely difficult conditions — working under shelling, in severe weather conditions, day and night — "the life of the country continues even after the most massive enemy attacks, and light and heat return to Ukrainian homes."

"This is work at the limits of human endurance and often at risk to life across the country. It is the government’s duty to support the brave and professional people who carry out this titanic task," the prime minister said.

According to her, it is also the government’s responsibility to continually thank those who keep working and restore energy facilities in record time despite freezing temperatures and shelling.
