Over 15,000 power workers involved in repair crews to restore power – Shmyhal

Over 15,000 power workers involved in repair crews to restore power in the country, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported.

"More than 15,000 energy workers have been involved in repairs and restoration as part of dedicated crews. Tens of thousands more energy workers, rescuers and utility staff are working around the clock to help people get light and heat back," Shmyhal said during Question Hour to the Government in parliament on Friday, expressing his gratitude for their efforts.

He added that to support regions facing extremely difficult electricity and heating conditions, including Kyiv, crews from other regions will be deployed to connect generator equipment for homes and carry out other necessary work.

"As more generators are delivered, we will increase the number of crews available for their connection," Shmyhal said.

Earlier, he noted that the most challenging situation with electricity is in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
