Aid from Italian govt arrives in Ukraine – Kuleba

Ukraine has received a batch of energy equipment from the Italian government, said Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

The shipment includes 39 units of industrial boiler equipment with a total capacity of nearly 53 megawatts, including modular and hot-water boilers along with burners, components, filters and auxiliary systems, Kuleba wrote on Telegram.

He said the assistance implements agreements reached between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The total weight of the shipment exceeds 109 tonnes, and the estimated value of the humanitarian aid is EUR 835,500, he said.

"Additional shipments will arrive in the coming days. Priority will be given to delivering the equipment to frontline regions," Kuleba said.

The minister added that this is only part of a broader support program. Overall, Italy has agreed to transfer 78 units of thermal engineering equipment with a combined capacity of 116 megawatts. The boilers can operate as primary or backup heat sources for hospitals, schools, administrative buildings, critical infrastructure facilities, as well as municipal boiler houses and district heating systems.

"Such solutions help strengthen heat supply, address emergency needs after shelling and reduce communities’ vulnerability during the winter period," he said.
