Court eases preventive measure for former Ukrenergo head Kudrytsky
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has eased the preventive measure applied to former head of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Suspilne reports.
"The preventive measures have been extended for another two months with the option of posting bail in the amount of UAH 7 million. In addition, the court left a number of procedural obligations in place for Kudrytsky," the report said.
In particular, Kudrytsky must surrender his foreign passport, refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case, and appear in court upon every summons.
The court's decision means a relaxation of the conditions of the preventive measure; however, Kudrytsky will continue to remain under procedural restrictions within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
As reported, on October 29, 2025, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv placed former Ukrenergo head Kudrytsky under arrest until December 26 inclusive, with the option of posting bail in the amount of UAH 13.7 million. On October 30, bail was posted on his behalf, and he was released from custody that evening.
Kudrytsky was detained by the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) on suspicion of fraudulently misappropriating funds of the state enterprise NPC Ukrenergo. According to the Bureau, in 2018, during tenders for the reconstruction of external fencing at substations of the Southern and Western power systems, the official entered into a conspiracy with representatives of a private company (referring to one of the companies of Lviv-based businessman Ihor Hrynkevych, who was previously detained over the procurement of substandard clothing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth more than UAH 1 billion). It is noted that under two contracts totaling more than UAH 68 million, the state enterprise transferred more than UAH 13.7 million in advance payments to the contractor, which the perpetrators allegedly misappropriated.
However, Ukrenergo recovered the bank guarantee from the contractor in that amount, and, as Kudrytsky noted, the interests of the state enterprise were not harmed.
He described the court's decision as political. During the hearing at which the court selected the preventive measure, Kudrytsky assured that he did not intend to evade the investigation or flee, as he planned to prove the groundlessness of the suspicion against him.
On October 21, SBI investigators conducted searches of Kudrytsky's car and home. During the vehicle search, investigators gained access to his phone, which patrol police officers had previously asked him to show in order to check the status of the Rezerv+ app.
Sources in law enforcement agencies noted that the searches were conducted as part of an investigation into the overstatement of logging volumes and the cost of contract work during the construction of power transmission lines.
Commenting on the searches, Kudrytsky said that no one suspected him of anything, and that, in his view, the sole purpose of the searches was to gain access to his phone.
Regarding Magamedrasulov, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General stated that they had exposed him for conducting business in the Russian Federation. On July 2, 2025, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv imposed a preventive measure on Magomedrasulov in the form of detention, and on October 17 extended it until December 15 without the right to post bail. The defense requested any preventive measure not involving detention, but the prosecutor stated that Magamedrasulov could go into hiding and influence witnesses.
