Russian army continues to suffer significant losses of personnel in Ukraine, military personnel refuse to participate in hostilities – AFU General Staff

The Russian army continues to suffer significant losses of personnel during the fighting in Ukraine, and is also experiencing problems with recruiting units, as Russian servicemen refuse to participate in military operations on the territory of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"The enemy continues to suffer significant losses of personnel. In order to solve the difficulty of recruiting units with military personnel under the contract, the Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation decided on the ability to sign short-term contracts for a period of three months and simplify the form of psychophysical selection of future candidates. These measures did not lead to the desired effect," the report says.

It notes that according to available information, since the beginning of the year, only 130 military servicemen have been selected for service in 42 units of the Southern Military District under a contract.

"Twenty-two of them have already refused to participate in the so-called ‘special operation’ on the territory of Ukraine," the General Staff emphasizes.

They specify that units directly involved in armed aggression on the territory of Ukraine have a special need for staffing.

"According to available information, in the 200th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 14th Army Corps of the coastal troops of the Northern Fleet, the personnel of two battalion tactical groups were destroyed. In addition, three companies of the 51st Parachute Regiment and a company of the 137th Parachute Regiment, which are part of the 106th Parachute Division, were destroyed on the territory of our state," the General Staff summed up.
