President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the protection of energy infrastructure in autumn and winter a top priority.

Speaking on Sunday at a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Ivano-Frankivsk, he said "it is obvious that in the autumn and winter the enemy will try to repeat the terror against the Ukrainian energy sector."

Zelenskyy said by protection he means physical protection, that is, "practical specific protection of energy facilities from missile attacks, Iranian and other drones," as well as "from sabotage, cyberattacks," control of our energy system by its specific parts, which should ensure generation and distribution of energy.

"At the government and security level, we will do our best. The responsibility of the communities is the maximum assistance to the defense and security forces, the government of Ukraine, assistance to officials in measures to protect the energy sector," he said.

Zelenskyy also called for the maximum level of readiness of the communities for any difficult tests and emergencies in the energy sector.
