Interior Ministry: More than 26,000 Ukrainians considered missing under special circumstances

To date, 11,000 civilians and 15,000 Ukrainian servicemen are considered missing under special circumstances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informs.

"As of now, more than 26,000 people are wanted as missing under special circumstances. Some 11,000 of them are civilians, about 15,000 are military," Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Timchenko said on the air of the national telethon on Thursday.

According to him, information about each missing person is registered, a register is maintained. "We cooperate with the National Police of Ukraine, with the Main Intelligence Agency, which are engaged in coordinating the search," he added.

Timchenko clarified that today about 9,000 families have received extracts from the Unified Register or Missing Persons.
