Rheinmetall to supply Ukraine with 100,000 rounds of ammunition for 120 mm mortars
Rheinmetall has received an order from the German government to supply Ukraine with about 100,000 rounds of ammunition for 120 mm mortars, the company's press service reports.
"The order, which costs less than three tens of millions of euros, is part of a recent package of military assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces in the amount of EUR 400 million euros. The delivery should begin in the near future and will last for two years," the message says.
It is noted that with the recent acquisition of the Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal, Rheinmetall has further strengthened its experience in the field of infantry fire support.
"The concern's product range includes a full set of 120-mm, 81-mm and 60-mm mortar ammunition. In addition to these are fire control systems and mortar weapons systems, such as the 120 mm Ragnarök mortar and the innovative 60 mm RSG60 mortar system. Thanks to the increased firing range, high accuracy and optimal combat effectiveness, Rheinmetall mortar ammunition provides favorable results even when conducting operations in difficult terrain and urban development," the company stressed.
