Ukraine, Canada to create new intl coalition for return of Ukrainian children
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit, announced the creation of a new international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children who were illegally displaced by the Russian Federation.
She said at a joint press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv that later today, Canada and Ukraine will create a new international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, uniting the countries of the world to protect the interests of these children.
Joly explained that as part of the said international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, Canada will use its diplomatic network around the world to communicate as if these children were Canadian children.
She promised to negotiate with many countries around the world: Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Qatar. From there, she said, they will raise awareness about these children. She said they would gather many countries to talk about this, would also work with countries that have direct relations with Russia so that these children could be returned home. Joly believes that every child who is returned to his family is a victory in itself.
