Kostin: Germany interviews more than 160 witnesses of Russia’s war crimes
Germany has collected more than 500 pieces of evidence of Russian war crimes, interviewed more than 160 witnesses, and is conducting a structural investigation of crimes against humanity, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said.
On the social network X on Friday, Kostin said that during a working trip to Germany, he met with Acting Federal Public Prosecutor General of Germany Lars Otte to discuss conditions for further cooperation.
“We greatly appreciate Germany’s efforts to ensure accountability for Russia’s international crimes, namely, the collection of over 500 pieces of evidence and interviewing over 160 witnesses, as well as conducting the structural investigation for war crimes and crimes against humanity,” the prosecutor general said.
According to him, mutual legal assistance is another priority area of cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of Ukraine and Germany.
