Govt approves strategy for development of voluntary free blood donation until 2028
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a strategy for the development of voluntary free donation of blood and blood components for the period until 2028.
As Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, reported on his Telegram channel, the decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.
In particular, the strategy for the development of voluntary free donation of blood and blood components for the period until 2028 was approved and the action plan for its implementation in 2024-2026 was approved.
The strategy is aimed at implementing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which provides for bringing Ukrainian legislation and practices closer to the principles of the EU acquis, in particular in the field of blood services, as well as Directive No. 2002/98/EC of the European Parliament and Council dated January 27 2003, setting standards of quality and safety for the collection, testing, processing, storage and distribution of human blood and blood components.
