The preisnde said she spoke with victims of sexual violence, with parents of children who were taken to Russia; she feels the whole tragedy. It must be stopped. The entire civilized world must take part in this, the Slovak President said.

As she noted, Slovakia sees Ukraine as a sovereign state that will independently choose its own path.

The President of Slovakia expressed gratitude to the President of Ukraine, the Ukrainian government and people, and also wished for the achievement of a just peace against the backdrop of the war with Russia.

She said only such peace is acceptable. Slovakia greatly appreciate Ukraine's courage. She said Ukrainians defend not only their own country, but also the principles on which the European security is based.

In turn, Zelenskyy thanked Čaputová, who is leaving the presidential post, for her personal moral leadership and determination in supporting Ukraine during the war.

"Madam President was one of the first European leaders to visit our country after the full-scale Russian invasion started. She has always fundamentally supported our defense against Russian terror and our work to ensure that both peoples become stronger. We also appreciate that relations between our states have become the most meaningful over the entire period since 1991. And in many areas, first of all, in the military-industrial sphere, political interaction," Zelenskyy said.
