Poroshenko: Martynenko's most important legacy will be the strengthening freedom of speech in Ukraine

Co-chairman of the European Solidarity faction, fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that Oleksander Martynenko's most important legacy will be the strengthening freedom of speech in Ukraine.

"Oleksander belongs to the galaxy of personalities who built Ukraine. They were at the origins of the independence of the state and set the tone in society. They determined the standard of the profession and created modern Ukrainian journalism. Ukraine's media community has suffered a great loss. I am convinced that the best tribute to the memory of Oleksand will be the strengthening of freedom of speech and the professionalism of Ukrainian journalists. Together we must maintain and develop what the giants who came from us have started,” Poroshenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
