Vilnius to allocate EUR 300,000 for reconstruction of Dnipro Shevchenko National Theater

Vilnius will allocate EUR 300,000 for the reconstruction of Dnipro National Theater named after Taras Shevchenko, as a result of which the theater will become a modern inclusive artistic space with opportunities for holding exhibitions, concerts, master classes, head of the regional military administration Serhiy Lysak said.

"Some EUR 300,000 for Dnipro National Theater named after Taras Shevchenko. Vilnius will allocate this amount for reconstruction. Funds from the Ukraine Assistance Fund," he wrote on the Telegram channel on Friday.

Lysak said that the money will be used to restore a large machine room, which is currently not in use. "However, it is planned to turn it into a real artistic hub for holding exhibitions, concerts, master classes. They will also create a reliable and comfortable shelter for the townspeople," Lysak added.

According to him, during the reconstruction it is planned to dismantle everything that is outdated. "To make the space barrier-free, an additional entrance was arranged. And also a stage. Major repairs, installation of ventilation."

"We are grateful to international partners for supporting the region. To the mayor of the capital of Lithuania, Valdas Benkunskas, for such a decision. And to the Ministry of Culture for promoting this important initiative," Lysak concluded.
