More than 58,000 people have completed first aid training from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) this year.

"Since the beginning of the year, more than 58,000 people have undergone first aid training from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society throughout Ukraine, including rescuers and police officers. Training in first aid skills is especially relevant in frontline areas, where... people are injured daily as a result of shelling," the Ukrainian Red Cross Society wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

According to master trainer and head of the first aid department of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, Nadia Yamnenko, "First aid instructor teams travel to settlements in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, where there is a need, to conduct training for young rescuers, employees of the State Emergency Service, and Ukrzaliznytsia, as well as ordinary Ukrainians."

She explained that during the training, 60% of the time is devoted to practical skills, ranging from applying a hemostatic bandage to using a tourniquet.

Since the start of the full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine (since February 24, 2022), nearly 250,000 people have completed first aid training from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
