President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during an address on Friday to the participants of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, stated the need to introduce a real and expanded decentralization of energy potential for the whole state.

"We are working to expand all electricity imports from the EU to Ukraine. At the same time, full assistance is needed for communities, for people, for companies, for business. And so that new generating capacities can be created locally and a real decentralization of Ukraine's energy potential extended to the whole state takes place. It actually happened, and not just at events, not just in statements, but actually happened in a practical way," Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State also recalled that he had instructed the government to develop new energy solutions before winter, designed to make life easier for people in conditions of energy shortage, and announced that details of these programs would be presented in the near future.

Zelenskyy also said that the participants of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities need to decide on common priorities in communication with partners regarding what exactly should be in support of Ukraine in the coming months, before the heating season.

"I ask everyone to be as specific as possible and focus on what is useful for our entire state and communities," the President concluded.
