Ukraine, not Russia, will prevail – Sullivan

A series of important measures aimed at long-term support for Ukraine and its path towards the membership in NATO make it clear that Ukraine will prevail in the war unleashed by Russia, United States National Security Advisor Jacob Sullivan has said.

In his speech at the NATO Public Forum in Washington on Thursday, Sullivan said that the long-term support measures, which have been previously discussed by the Allies, would be presented at a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council today. In particular, he mentioned the new NATO Command in Germany that will launch a training, equipment and development program for the Ukrainian army.

He also said that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg plans to appoint a new NATO senior representative to deepen the institutional relations between Ukraine and the Alliance, as well as cooperation with Ukrainian senior officials.

The Advisor emphasized that in its communique on July 10 the Alliance confirmed that Ukraine's future is in NATO, adding that the Washington summit is dedicated to building a bridge to NATO for Ukraine as it continues to implement important reforms.

Sullivan said the series of measures outlined by him are the building blocks of this bridge.

"Putin cannot divide us. He cannot outlast us. He cannot weaken us. And Ukraine, not Russia, will prevail," he said.
