IFU enters into agreement to purchase artillery shells worth £300 mln
The International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) has entered into an agreement to purchase artillery ammunition for Ukraine in the amount of £300 million, the British government said.
"In addition, the UK-administered International Fund for Ukraine will place a new order, worth GBP 300 million, for 120,000 rounds of 152mm soviet-era ammunition bolstering Ukraine's defences against Russia," according to the British government website.
It is indicated that the ammunition will be produced by a European supplier, which will stimulate new industrial capacity to provide Ukraine with high-priority ammunition.
In turn, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the X social network thanked its partners for their help.
"We are grateful to our partners for their continued support! Together we are stronger," the ministry said.
The IFU was founded by nine countries: Great Britain, the Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden.
