Arricano increases representation of Ukrainian manufacturers among tenants of shopping center

Arricano Real Estate Plc, the managing company and developer of shopping and entertainment centers Prospekt in Kyiv, City Mall in Zaporizhia, and Sun Gallery in Kryvy Rih, is increasing the representation of Ukrainian producers among the tenants of shopping malls, said Board Chairman of Arricano Margus Kurm in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"By changing the tenant pool, we are already increasing the representation of Ukrainian producers and will continue to enhance this trend, as well as provide more opportunities for local and regional brands. Just in 2022-2023, we invited several Ukrainian producers to our shopping malls who are successfully serving our consumers, namely: Solmar, Stimma, Wear Me, Maritel, etc. This year, we expect the opening of the updated Goldi store (one of the largest domestic producers in Ukraine) in the RayON shopping center. Moreover, a significant portion of already successful producers plans to expand their stores with us," Kurm said.

According to him, attention to Ukrainian producers is also driven by the growth in consumer demand for mid-priced segment stores.

"Therefore, our strategy involves attracting more local brands that can offer more affordable high-quality goods, primarily in the most demanded categories (sportswear, household items, etc.)," he said.

The low vacancy rates also testify to the success and efficiency of the shopping centers: zero in the capital's shopping centers, around 1% in Zaporizhia and Kryvy Rih.

"As for the overall performance, there has been a slight decline, of course [compared to pre-war indicators], in terms of international company accounting in U.S. dollars. Compared to pre-war times, total rental income fell by 11%, net operating income decreased by 8%. Considering all factors, I consider this a very good result," Kurm said.
