Poroshenko's Foundation calls dismantling of its placards crime typical of dictatorships, intends to hold perpetrators accountable

On the eve of Independence Day, August 23, placards of Poroshenko Foundation, reading "Army. Language. Faith. Independence", "EU. NATO. Ukraine" were dismantled, covered and torn down all over the country on the orders of the authorities.

The Foundation considers this an unprecedented, outrageous crime that could be imagined in Russia, Belarus, or some African dictatorship - but not in a state that has undertaken obligations as a candidate for membership in the European Union.

The Poroshenko Foundation is currently collecting information about the customers, organizers, and participants of this "special operation" and intends to contact law enforcement agencies with a demand to investigate this crime.

We appeal to everyone who can provide us with photo or video evidence of this vandalism - please send them to us in private or in the comments under this post, indicating the locality and address of the advertising medium.

In our opinion, after the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, it should have become obvious to everyone that Army, Language, Faith are not political slogans, but basic values for the creation of a state and the existence of the Ukrainian state.

It is a shame that the government is spending budget funds, involving law enforcement agencies and municipal services in this "witch hunt." These efforts should be directed to funding drones, electronic warfare systems and other equipment for the front. After all, the war continues, and the enemy is Putin's Russia, and not the political opposition or charitable organizations that are objectionable to the government.

We emphasize: this is not about destroyed property that was financed by private funds. This is about outright state censorship, a shameful desecration of freedom of speech. This is a question for the entire society, which clearly (as numerous sociological surveys prove) chooses the path of democracy and the rule of law, and not dictatorship. That is why we intend to bring this matter to its logical conclusion, clarify all the circumstances and legally force them to bear responsibility for it.
