Zelenskyy: We remember and honor courage, humanity of Ukrainians - Righteous Among the Nations
Today is the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians who saved Jews during World War II, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Tuesday on his Telegram channel.
"Some 2,659 Ukrainian men and women were awarded the honorary title of Righteous Among the Nations. Each such story is a saved human life and a personal victory of a particular person over the evil of Nazism. In the darkest circumstances, when our people could not yet know when the war would end, they did not betray the best that is in everyone's heart," he wrote.
"We remember and honor this courage and humanity. Ukraine imitates the hearts that remained on the side of good and won, and will never forgive those who are now reproducing the hatred of the twentieth century and bringing wars to other nations. Life will win!" Zelenskyy also wrote.
