Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Transport of North Macedonia Aleksander Nikoloski signed the Protocol to the Agreement between the states on international road transport of passengers and goods.

"The signing of amendments to the Agreement is an important step in the development of our relations at the interstate level. With the Protocol, we fully approve liberalization of road transport between our states. It concerns bilateral and transit traffic between the countries. The corresponding decision was made in June 2023," Kuleba wrote on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

He pointed out that already in 2024, thanks to liberalization of transportation, the export of Ukrainian goods to North Macedonia increased by almost 30%.

"Accordingly, we see an increase both in the dynamics of our economic ties and directly in transportation. In turn, we are interested in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with North Macedonia, which is a promising partner for Ukraine," Kuleba pointed out.

He said that the Protocol, which has been signed, means that a freight transportation system that doesn't need permits can be used stably, and that the relevant agreements can be recorded as part of the Agreement between the countries. He also said that he thinks that by 2025, trade between the countries and the number of road transport vehicles will increase.
