British ambassador Crompton begins work in Ukraine
The newly appointed British Ambassador to Ukraine, Neil Crompton, presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Mishchenko.
"It is a pleasure and an honour to arrive in Kyiv as Ambassador. There is an unbreakable bond between the UK and Ukraine. I look forward to deepening the bilateral partnership within the framework of the Centennial Partnership," the British Embassy in Ukraine reported.
In September, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine, Martin Harris, announced the completion of his diplomatic mission in Kyiv.
Earlier, the British government reported that Knight of the Order of the British Empire, Neil Crompton, has been appointed the new British Ambassador to Ukraine.
Neil Crompton is a British diplomat with many years of work experience. From 2020 to 2025, he held the position of British Ambassador to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From 2015 to 2019, he was Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Foreign Office (FCO). From 2014 to 2015, he was Head of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and from 2011 to 2014, Head of the Department for South Asia and Afghanistan. From 2007 to 2011, Crompton worked as a Foreign and Security Policy Advisor in Washington. From 2005 to 2007, he coordinated Iran issues at the Foreign Office, and from 2003 to 2005, he was Head of Iraq Policy. He began his career at the Foreign Office in 1995.
