Rada adopts law on protection of rights of land share owners

At a meeting on Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law of Ukraine on the protection of the interests of owners of land shares, as well as the application of administrative procedures in the field of land relations, revised taking into account the proposals of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the press service of the Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy reported.

According to the report, draft law No. 11150, revised by the relevant committee, was supported by 248 MPs in general.

The bill provides for an extension of the period for registration of unclaimed (undistributed) land plots, the distribution of land plots between the owners of land shares and their heirs that remained in collective ownership after the distribution of land plots (from 2025 to 2028).

In addition, mandatory advanced training for certified land survey engineers is being resumed. The pilot project for entering information into the State Land Cadastre by certified land survey engineers will be extended until 2026.

The document allows the use of funds that have been received by the relevant budgets to compensate for forestry production losses during the development of land management projects and the implementation of the measures provided for by them.

Funds from compensation for agricultural losses that remained in local budgets before the abolition of the institution of agricultural production losses will now be directed to land protection.
