Since the start of 2025, National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom has continued to fully meet its Public Service Obligations (PSO), aimed at reducing costs for the public.

"Since the beginning of the year, Energoatom has paid UAH 94.3 billion (including VAT) for the PSO service. This covers 100% of the cost for January–July 2025 and 60% of the projected cost for August," the company reported Tuesday.

According to Energoatom's financial plan, the projected cost of PSO services in 2025 is UAH 163.9 billion (including VAT).

"Energoatom is meeting its commitments to the state diligently, paying for the PSO service in full and on time. In addition, we are nearing the final stage of our maintenance campaign, which will allow us to operate all nine power units at full capacity during the autumn-winter period," said Energoatom President Petro Kotin.

In 2024, Energoatom paid UAH 153.2 billion (including VAT) for PSO services. That year, PSO payments accounted for 58% of the company's net revenue, while net profit stood at UAH 1.3 billion.

Currently, Energoatom operates nine power units at the Pivdennoukrainska (South Ukraine,) Rivne, and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants, with a total capacity of 7,880 MW, all located in Ukrainian-controlled territory.
