Ukraine commissions 600 MW of distributed generation in 2025, approximately 800 MW more expected by year end – Hrynchuk
Ukraine commissioned 600 MW of distributed generation – facilities powered by natural gas and renewable energy sources (RES) during 2025, approximately 300 MW more is expected in the public sector and 500 MW – in the private sector, Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported.
"This year, an additional 600 MW of distributed generation has been commissioned. I am talking about gas generation and renewable energy. By the end of the year, we plan at least another 350 MW of gas generation. These are only those projects that are already being implemented and will definitely be completed by our large energy companies, mainly state-owned… And we expect another approximately 500 MW of distributed generation in the private sector," said Hrynchuk during the presentation of the draft Government Action Program in Kyiv on Monday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reports from the scene.
According to her, the government and the Ministry of Energy are fully supporting the private sector in the development of distributed generation.
In addition, Hrynchuk drew attention to plans to continue supporting households in installing alternative energy sources.
