Ukrainian units also attacked anti-aircraft missile divisions of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.
"In particular, combat work was carried out on three enemy radars: two from the S-350 complexes and one from the S-300. The exact hit and destruction of one S-350 SAM radar has been confirmed," the General Staff noted.
At the same time, information is being clarified regarding two other goals. It is noted that all three enemy radars stopped working after the strikes.
Units of the missile forces, Special Operations Forces (SOF), forces and means of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Forces of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in combat work.
An informed source told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency that at night the SBU, in cooperation with the AFU and SOF, struck the Russian military airfield Lipetsk-2. According to the source, there were several dozen fighter jets, helicopters, and warehouses where more than 700 guided bombs were stored.
The source notes that after the Ukrainian drone strike, a powerful explosion occurred, which caused a chain detonation and a large-scale fire in a significant part of the airfield. At the same time, local authorities confirmed the detonation and announced the evacuation of residents of nearby settlements.
"Most of the aircraft stationed at the Lipetsk-2 military airfield did not have time to take off," the source added.
"The SBU, in cooperation with the Defense Forces, continues methodical work to destroy the aviation logistics of the Russians so that the enemy would not have the opportunity to attack Ukrainian cities with bombs. In early August, we cleared the Morozovsk airfield from smart bombs and fighters, today it is the turn for Lipetsk-2. We are working further," an informed source said.
