The main set of works on the reconstruction of the transport interchange at the intersection of Poliarna and Bohatyrska streets in Kyiv will be completed by the end of August, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

"We plan to open traffic with exits and entrances to the new overpass by the end of summer. We will soon complete all the work on the territory improvement. Traffic on the overpass - Poliarna Street through Bohatyrska Street - was opened in May," Klitschko wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.

According to him, the reconstruction of this interchange will increase the capacity of the transport hub and reduce traffic jams in this part of Obolon.

"We have already equipped the exits and entrances of the transport interchange, sidewalks and bike paths. We have installed outdoor lighting, railing and barrier fencing, and reconstructed the utility networks. We have also built an underground pedestrian crossing with ramps for people with limited mobility... Repairs are also underway on a section of the roadway on Bohatyrska Street. They are laying the road surface [widening the roadway], arranging sidewalks and bike paths, installing lighting poles. They are also rebuilding utility networks," Klitschko said.
