Ukraine to auction off 3 mobile communication frequency bands on Nov 11 – regulator
Ukraine will auction off mobile communication frequencies in the 2100, 2300, and 2600 MHz bands on November 11, 2024.
The decision was made by the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum, and Postal Services (NCEC) at a meeting on Wednesday, according to a press release from the commission.
"On September 11, 2024, NCEC adopted a resolution on issuing licenses for the use of radio frequencies in the 1935-1950/2125-2140 MHz, 2355-2395 MHz, and 2575-2610 MHz bands for cellular radio communications through an auction process. The auction will begin on November 11, 2024," the NCEC press service reported on Wednesday.
The decision establishes the conditions for the auction, the terms of the licenses, and the composition of the selection committee.
The auction will offer five lots across three frequency bands: 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2600 MHz.
"By participating in the auction, mobile operators will be able to acquire additional radio spectrum for 4G implementation, which will enhance network capacity and service quality," the NCEC stated.
The sale of licenses is expected to bring at least UAH 3 billion to the state budget.
