Vereshchuk holds meeting on legislative changes for reform of Medical, Social Expertise Commission
A meeting has been held under the chairmanship of Deputy Head of the President’s Office Iryna Vereshchuk regarding changes in legislation in pursuance of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to reform the system of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC).
The key topics of the meeting are the elimination of the Medical and Social Expertise Commission, the digitalization of all stages of establishing disability, as well as the procedure and criteria by which this will be carried out, the press service of the President's Office reports.
"Our people should not have to undergo incomprehensible examinations, wait for months or pay money for ‘assistance’ in obtaining what is due to them by law. We must immediately make appropriate changes to the legislation to prevent any abuses in the future and to ensure that those responsible are severely and fairly punished," Vereshchuk said.
She called on the parliament, government and representatives of public organizations to focus on legislative work so that Ukrainians would see qualitative changes in the near future.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the National Security and Defense Council Office and other departments, as well as public organizations that deal with people with disabilities.
