Fierce fighting continues in Pokrovsk axis with an enemy that is superior, first of all, in manpower, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky said.

According to Syrsky's statement on Facebook, while working in Pokrovsk axis, he personally visited the soldiers of the 38th separate marine brigade.

"By now, fighting continues in Pokrovsk axis with an enemy that is superior, first of all, in manpower. It is necessary to make non-standard decisions to increase the stability of the defense and more effectively destroy the occupiers. The fighting is extremely fierce. Russian occupiers are throwing forward all available forces, trying to break through the defense of our forces," the AFU Commander-in-Chief said.

He said Ukrainian soldiers are showing extreme fortitude and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

According to Syrsky, in such conditions, Ukraine's main task is to strengthen the defense, in particular, to provide units with a sufficient amount of ammunition and their constant supply.

"I listened to the information about the existing problems and gave the appropriate orders. I am grateful to the soldiers for their courage and fortitude in the fight against the enemy," he said.
