Govt bill on principles of housing policy registered in Ukrainian parliament
The government bill No. 12377, "On the Principles of Housing Policy," has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, according to a Telegram post by Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet's representative in Parliament.
"This bill aims to lay the groundwork for shaping Ukraine's housing policy in line with the standards and norms outlined in the European Union's guiding documents and Article 47 of Ukraine's Constitution. It also seeks to create a conducive legal framework for attracting international organizations and donors to assist in forming housing stock," he wrote.
The bill establishes principles for housing policy that align with those enshrined in international EU documents, including accessibility and barrier-free housing, inviolability of the right to housing, transparency and public participation, freedom of choice, fairness and equal access to housing, strategic planning, and social integration.
The document has not yet been published on the Parliament's website.
