War in Ukraine approaching 'turning point,' Turkey ready to support efforts to resume negotiations – FM
The Russian war against Ukraine is approaching a "turning point," Turkey is ready to support initiatives to resume the peace negotiations, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said.
"We see that the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for almost three years, is approaching a turning point. In this context, we believe that diplomacy is the only way out for a sustainable and fair solution," Fidan said at a joint press conference with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas in Ankara on Friday.
According to the Foreign Minister, Turkey is ready "to support initiatives aimed at resuming the negotiation process to end the war as soon as possible."
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Russia's war against Ukraine "could easily end" if the U.S. administration under Donald Trump takes a solutions-based approach."
