The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) team participates in emergency rescue operations in Sumy after a Russian UAV hit a high-rise building.

“On the night of 30 January, Russian forces targeted a ten-storey residential building in Sumy. A team from the Ukrainian Red Cross is working at the site of the attack alongside the State Emergency Service of Ukraine,” URCS said on Facebook Thursday.

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team volunteers evacuated victims from the damaged building. They also provided first aid and psychological first aid to those affected and offered comprehensive support to the emergency workers.

As URCS said on Telegram, a volunteer from the rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross rescued a girl from the rubble of the house.

Emergency rescue operations are continuing.

As reported, in Sumy, four people were killed and nine were injured in various degrees of severity, including one child, as a result of a Russian UAV hit in a high-rise building. Five victims were hospitalized, including a child, three are in serious condition.
